An endless staircase...

Complements of La Sagrada Familia Temple in Barcelona, Spain - designed by Antoni Gaudi

This is a memorable moment while traveling up the spires of the temple, which was breath-taking!!! (in both ways - it was beautiful AND a tiresome walk!)

I thought you might enjoy a look at one of my favorite places and appreciate a chance to reflect a little. This picture beautifully speaks to me about sequence, eternity, moving, being out of reach, and meaning, just to name a few things!

What does this make you think about?

I was gonna' say a giant bathtub drain but I'm guessing you were looking for something a little more reflective.....

Will continue pondering that...

Yeah, life sometimes feels like one big bathtub drain! ha

It's wild how many pictures I have... ridiculous numbers of them! But, it's nice to be able to pull them out here and again to remember, reflect, or smile. :-)

I am a crab inside a GIGANTIC cement conch shell...

Em, is there a place you have NOT been to? ;)

You are clearly no crab, young Sarah! ;-) There are many places I have yet to see!!! I've toyed with the idea of taking a 6 to 12-month around-the-world holiday... Alas, that requires time and money. argh!

Emerson, Are you traveling AGAIN? OK. I am completely jealous and unwilling to hide.

OH. Well. I don't care. I live in Waco, TX. How cool is that!

Hey Ladonald! Nope, I am not traveling! :-) This is a picture I took during a trip a while ago. I just thought it would be fun to share!

And yes, Waco, TX has everything on Barcelona! Really, what is the comparison?

Hey Emery!!

Well, in a crazy way I guess as this staircase looks nothing like it, it reminds me of DNA. It is the similarity of elements that I see the connection.

Both are made up of fairly simple building blocks into a fairly simple overall structure - spiral & double helix. Yet both are hardly simple either.

That's why I really love DNA - the simplicity and complexity at the same time. When I think about this molecule (yes, science geek - first degree in molecular biology) it is a WOW moment again and again.

It is breath-taking - this is the code for life. Basically a binary code that gives all the diversity of creation, of life. There is so much around DNA that is amazing, like the strand of DNA in the largest human chromosome is 85mm long if stretched out like a piece of string then undergoes a 10 to the power of 4 fold condensing to the chromosome size in the cell nucleus. WOW!!!!!!

All this leads me to one place - a serious WOW for God!!!! Because there is no way that all this complexity and simplicity was random - it just wouldn't work if done randomly.

This beautiful molecule leds to being again awe inspired by God.

Hey Natasha!

Thanks for the comment and scientific description of DNA! :-) That's a good observation - simple and complex... probably one of the reasons I really like this picture.
